Built on the practical needs of real families
Cairnstone grew out of a straightforward observation: when families in Thailand face the task of organising papers for ageing parents, relocations, or simply taking stock of what they hold, there is rarely a clear starting point. Professional advisors tend to focus on specific legal or financial areas, while the surrounding paperwork — important documents, household records, property files — gets left in folders, drawers, or forgotten email threads.
We set out to fill that gap directly. Our work is practical and educational: we help families understand what a complete document picture looks like, build an index they can navigate, and maintain it so it stays useful over time. We do not practise law, provide financial advice, or act as representatives in any capacity. We organise papers.
Based in Khon Kaen, we work primarily with English-speaking families — expats, retirees, and international households — who want their affairs in clear order but have not known where to start. Our sessions are calm, unhurried, and focused on leaving families with a system they actually understand.

Cairnstone exists to help families in Khon Kaen — and more broadly across Thailand — build that foundation before it becomes critical. We work in English and accommodate a range of document types commonly held by international families in Thailand: UK and European records, Australian paperwork, US documentation, Thai administrative files, and mixed international portfolios. Our sessions are practical, our outputs are simple paper and digital indexes, and our approach is grounded in the belief that a good records system does not need to be complicated — it needs to be findable.
